Homemade fried shish chicken

Middle Eastern · 15 minutes · serves 1 · 480 kcal

Ingredients

  • 150g Shish tawook
  • 150g Ready white rice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 0.5 tsp 7 spices
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 wedge lemon

Method

  1. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and Shish tawook pieces to the skillet, cooking for about 6 to 8 minutes until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in the 7 spices, salt, and black pepper, tossing well with the chicken.
  4. Add the Ready white rice to the skillet and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through, mixing well with the spiced chicken and garlic.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top just before serving.

Chef’s tip

Make sure the skillet is hot before adding the Shish tawook to get a nice sear on the meat without drying it out.

Goes well with

A glass of cold water with fresh mint leaves.

I added guacamole and toum on the side instead of rice.
